Designing different kinds of speakers

Speaker designs
In the autumn of 2017 I worked on a project designing three different types of speakers;
An intelligent speaker, a modular speaker and classic with a twist.
The intelligent speaker
The idea of an intelligent speaker came from knowing about technology found in the DJI app that controls the 3 axis gimble called Osmo. DJI have developed the gimble to track an object selected by the user.
From knowledge gained at Aalborg University and google's AI project I assumed it would be possible for the speaker to detect a user and thereby adjust the volume according to where the user(s) are in the room, to optimize the experience.
The Modular Speaker
With a modular speaker system, the user is able to build out the system gradually, making the speaker better and better and the company is able to add different speaker modules accordingly, depending on e.g. user feedback.
The Modules are meant to fit together and connect to each other and by talking to each other making one speaker with the possibility to deliver a much more detailed sound experience.
The classic speaker with a twist
The last challenge was to come up with a suggestion to a classic speaker with no additional features than the design.
The speakers concepts that were made were a speaker with wood slats and o ne with wool cover. Both were rounded.
