TIUX

 - Spring 2014 -

In 2014 we spotted that customization was 'the new thing' and developed a new ceiling lamp.

The lamp project "Tiux" happened on the 2. semester with the collaborative light company Nordlux. They attended several milestone presentations and provided a lot of lamps to study and draw inspiration from. The project was a very short one because we were at the Salone del Mobile. Milano fair, as part of the study trip, where we gathered a lot of inspiration and knowledge of the upcoming trends. Other than that, when the project was started we made light tests, sketched and made moch-ups. Through the milestones, we got the feedback we needed to narrow down to three concepts, and in the end one concept TIUX. Nordlux gave technical feedback as well as insight into their customer segment.

Nordlux said they liked TIUX the most, but one year later they introduced a product similar to Conum called Multicolor.

My area of responsibility

As in all other projects we work together in the early phases of the project. To get the team aligned. This means that some smaller tasks will be divided out such as user mapping, competitor mapping, stakeholder mapping etc. Other tasks like ideation with sketching are done together.

Later on, bigger tasks were divided into smaller teams. This could be making the prototype, the 3D model or user testing.

3D-modelling â€‹

I had a lot of the responsibility in relation to the 3D prototype. We were two on this task to make it done faster.
